KriSe WiSe 24/25: Auftaktkonzert RATs + Sniff

Am 19.10.24 starten wir in die KriSe (aka Kritischer Semesterstart) fürs Wintersemester 2024/25 mit einem kleinen, feinen Konzert. Um 20 Uhr öffnet sich die heilige Halle (ganz neu: Das Schlagzeug schmirgelt euch dank Bassfallen an der Decke des Theatersaals nicht mehr das Trommelfell weg), um 20:30 Uhr geht es los. Eintritt wie immer frei, Spenden um 5€ gern gesehen.

*Sniff*

Sniff is a Berlin-based post-punk four piece that combines hypnotic off-kilter basslines, frantic guitars, mournful vocals and powerhouse drums. Strange, dark and a bit unhinged, the band’s sound drips lavishly with reverb and punk-hearted psychedelia. Wearing their influences on their sleeve, the group draws from the confrontational energy of The Birthday Party, The Pop Group, The Virgin Prunes and The Stooges. Hailing from Italy, Germany, England and Scotland respectively, sniff consists of Nico Pili (vocals and guitar), Matthis x (drums) Chris White (bass) and Daniel Quinn (guitar).

*RATs*

RATs – a Punk-Rock Trio that is based in Potsdam Germany. Taking Inspiration from multiple different genres of music, they don’t let genre defined norms contain their creativity. Mixing and mashing sounds and styles of genres such as Hardcore Punk, Surf Rock, Blues and even Metal and Stoner Rock they always leave you guessing what the next song may sound like. Their Lyrics often stay true to the Punk Rock mindset, openly criticizing toxic societal norms and questioning the function and meaning behind varied institutions. At the same time RATs aren’t afraid to handle other themes whether it be fun Lyrics to help forget the mundane, or to do with mental health, addiction and other important aspects often forgotten in everyday conversation.

RATs – Eine dreiköpfige Punkrock Kapelle aus Potsdam. Auch wenn Punkrock als Überschrift passt, lassen sie sich nicht wirklich eine Gerneschublade stecken. Sie reißen lieber alle auf, basteln daraus eine Setlist und klatschen sie dem Publikum um die Ohren ohne selber zu wissen wie der nächste Song klingen wird… Irgendwas aus Hardcore, Surf, Blues, Metal oder Stoner wird es wohl sein. Auch in ihren Texten bleiben sie dem Punk treu. So kritisieren sie soziale Normen, hinterfragen Obrigkeiten und deren verblendete Anhänger und Beschützer. Haben aber genau so viel Spaß daran Texte ohne tieferen Gehalt oder über den eigenen verklemmten Kopf von sich zu geben. Alles um den Mist im Alltag loszuwerden, zu ertragen oder ihn euch einfach nur zu versüßen. Also überzeugt euch selbst von diesem musikalischem Glücksrad!
